Costambar is the villa and condo community just west of Puerto Plata, 15 to 20 minutes from POP, and it is almost entirely rentals: low-rise condos, private villas and long-stay apartments spread over a grid behind the beach. Street signage is thin and several streets carry no name at all, so the useful address is the villa or building name plus a pin from your host. Send both and the driver goes to the door rather than circling. Golf carts are the local transport here; if your lane is cart-only at the end, your host meets you at the nearest car point, which we agree with them before the day.
