When we recommend leaving Cabrera

We recommend a pickup 3.5 to 4 hours before your flight time from Cabrera or Orchid Bay. This is our own operating figure for a genuine coast-road route: 75 to 90 minutes back west along the road past Río San Juan and Cabarete, with the range reflecting the long unlit stretch and how much traffic through Cabarete varies with time of day, rather than any resort-side delay. Orchid Bay and the other gated estates add a short security step at the entrance gate, where the guard confirms the vehicle and passenger names before releasing the car, and that alone can take ten minutes if it is not arranged ahead of time. We register the vehicle with estate security using your villa number in advance so the gate is quick rather than a bottleneck, and we still build the coast-road drive and the POP counter and security into the 3.5 to 4 hour window.

How the Cabrera pickup runs

2. 2We register the vehicle with estate security in advance if needed and reply with the written price and pickup time.
3. 3The driver clears the estate gate or reaches the hotel lobby and waits with your name.
4. 4Direct 75–90 minute drive to POP departures. No other passengers.

Resort gate and lobby pickup

For Orchid Bay and other gated villas, the driver clears the estate's security gate using your villa number and passenger names registered in advance, then comes to your door. For Cabrera hotels, the driver waits at the main lobby with your name.

Luggage and bigger groups

Snorkel and dive gear from the cliffs and beaches here are common alongside standard luggage. Tell us the count with your booking so we send an SUV or van built for both the passengers and the gear.

Night and early-morning departures

Early flights after a Cabrera or Orchid Bay stay are common and the price does not change for the hour, but the estate gate still needs the vehicle registered in advance even at 4 a.m., and the coast road past Cabarete is a long unlit stretch we plan the timing around rather than rush. We confirm the pickup the evening before by WhatsApp.
