Where Punta Rucia actually is
Punta Rucia is a small fishing village on the far west of the north coast, past Luperón and Villa Isabela on the road towards Monte Cristi — the opposite direction from Sosúa and Cabarete, and about 75 to 90 minutes from the airport. Most visitors come for one reason: the boats to Cayo Arena, the sandbar and reef in the Parque Nacional Montecristi that day trips call Paradise Island. The rate covers the village, the beach, the small lodges and guesthouses around it and the villas on the same coast road. The last section is rural and partly unlit, there is no taxi rank out here and no ride app at the far end, so this run is arranged in advance or it does not happen. If you are joining a Cayo Arena boat, tell us the departure time and we set the pickup around it.
