Where Perla Marina sits and how access works

Perla Marina is the residential pocket just west of Cabarete town, between the highway and the sea, and it is where most of the area's private villa rentals sit. The drive from POP is 25 to 30 minutes through Sosúa. The complication is the last few hundred metres: the lanes are quiet, partly unpaved, poorly lit and signed with villa names rather than numbers, so a driver who has not been given the villa name is genuinely lost after dark. Send the villa name and your host's phone number and we confirm the meeting point in writing before you fly. Kite and surf gear is no problem — give us the board count and the right vehicle turns up.

How the pickup works
