Where Riu Merengue sits and where we stop

Hotel Riu Merengue is the third property on the Playa Maimón Riu strip, adults-only and reached through the same shared entrance as Bachata and Mambo. The transfer is the Maimón zone rate, 30 to 35 minutes from POP through Puerto Plata and past Cofresí. Because the three hotels share one security post, the exact name matters more here than anywhere else in the province; we confirm Merengue in writing and the driver stops at that reception. If you are sailing from Amber Cove afterwards, the port is minutes away and we can book both legs together.

How the pickup works

1. 1Send your flight number, date and party size on WhatsApp — we confirm the price in writing.
2. 2We track the flight, so a delay or an early landing does not change anything.
3. 3Your driver waits in arrivals with a name sign, just past customs.
4. 4Direct 30–35 minute drive to the Playa Maimón entrance and on to the Riu Merengue reception.

Bigger groups and luggage

Up to six passengers ride in one Standard vehicle at $35. For 7–14 passengers we send a passenger van: +$20 on Standard, +$40 on VIP. Send the luggage count with the booking — golf bags, strollers and car seats are all fine, we just size the vehicle before the day instead of at the curb.
