Seek assistance from your operating airline or its baggage representative before leaving the airport. Follow its current reporting instructions and keep the confirmation. Tell transfer dispatch that you are completing a missing-bag report and request confirmation of your pickup. Give the airline an accurate delivery address; do not assume your driver will retrieve the suitcase later.
Report the missing bag before leaving POP
Check the flight and carousel information, then ask airline or airport staff where to obtain baggage assistance. Follow the operating carrier's process; online reporting is not available everywhere on the same terms. Have your baggage-tag receipt, flight details, contact information and suitcase description ready. Keep the report reference, confirmation and follow-up instructions. A bag tracker can help describe the situation but does not replace the report. Ask staff what remains to be done before you leave; do not exit a controlled area merely to find the driver.
Update your transfer while completing the report
Send dispatch your transfer booking name, flight number, current location and a short explanation that the suitcase is missing and a report is in progress. Flight tracking shows the aircraft's arrival, not the progress of a baggage case. Ask dispatch to confirm where and when to meet after the airline formalities. If your phone cannot connect, ask airport staff for help contacting the team. Do not promise a departure time until you know what the airline still requires.
Give a delivery address that works
Ask the airline whether delivery or airport collection applies to your case, including any restrictions or costs. For a resort, give the full property name, guest name, reception contact and stay dates. Confirm that reception can accept the bag. For a villa in Sosúa or Cabarete, add the development, unit, host contact and gate instructions; a nearby resort's name is not your address. If moving to another hotel or continuing toward Samaná or Punta Rucia, update the airline promptly and obtain confirmation of the delivery destination. Do not assume a delivery time.
Before leaving: confirmation and follow-up
Keep the baggage tag and report confirmation accessible, check the contact details and ask how to track the case. Confirm your passenger pickup with dispatch separately. Can the driver collect the recovered suitcase later? Only if the airline permits third-party collection and dispatch separately confirms authorization, availability and any quote; the arrival transfer does not establish that service. An item left in the car follows the vehicle lost-property process instead. Send baggage-tracing questions to the airline, transfer questions to dispatch and delivery-access questions to your accommodation.
